Stakeholders

Groups of local stakeholders has been brought together in both the New Forest and Fontainebleau to represent the variety of interests in each Forest. Statutory agencies, forest user groups and local businesses form a number of forums to guide the future direction of the PROGRESS project and its actions.

The New Forest stakeholder group has the following members:

• Beaulieu Settled Estate
  Private estate in the New Forest

  The UK’s largest equestrian charity with over 60,000 members.
• Camping and Caravanning Club – www.campingandcaravanningclub.co.uk
  The oldest and largest camping club in the UK, offering Club sites across the country.
• Countryside Agency – www.countryside.gov.uk
  UK public body working to improve the quality of the countryside.
• English Nature – www.english-nature.org.uk
  Government agency set up by the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs to conserve wildlife, geology and wild places in England.

  Regional Government office.
• Hampshire Wildlife Trust – www.hwt.org.uk
  Wildlife charity for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
• Livery Representative
  Representing local livery yards and small riding stables.

  Charity working towards conserving the UK’s countryside and heritage through protecting the environment.

  Organisation that supports the rights of New Forest commoners to turn their stock out on the open Forest.

  Organisation working towards preserving the tradition of freedom to ride in the New Forest.

  Advisory body of Forest professionals looking to improve access to the countryside.

  New Forest off road cycling club.
• New Forest Association of Local Councils
  An association that represents the interests of the local councils based in the Forest.

  An association of selected members that act in the interests of the New National Park

  Organisation working towards the rights of dogs and their owners in the New Forest.
• New Forest Tourism Association
  A group consisting of all the local tourism providers.
